That's nice of you to say that. You're right, he really does appreciate it, both for it's intrinsic quality, and its heritage. He's in the fashion game but I know that this is one thing he'll never discard.

Servicing maybe every ten years. Some will run beyond that. Still a pretty small outlay I guess, considering what the watch cost in the first place.

Although I'm not into watches, about 20 years ago my old man gave me his 20 year old Oyster perpetual datejust and then 8 years ago I passed it on to my son on his 21st. I knew he'd appreciate it more than I did and he's worn it every day ever since.
The trouble with Rolex is that they need servicing and the prices start at just under £300. You could buy a bloody good watch for that.
I've been a Tissot man since the 70's.

I think if you want a 100% accurate watch, buy a digital. The beauty of mechanical watches to me is that they are not. A COSC Rolex will lose/gain a minimal amount of time over a given period.

My g shock gets radio signal every few hours so it always keeps the right time, also can wear it doing anything, pretty much bullet proof.

Lovely watch the Navitimer. Mate in work has 3 or 4, all from the 60’s.
He’s a bit of a Breitling connoisseur and persuaded me to buy a Transocean Chrono 43 to replace a Tag Carrera. Only gains/loses a maximum of 30 seconds per week. Timekeeeping wise it shits all over a Rolex. Boss had a Submariner. Flogged it after about 18 months and said he’d have been better off with an egg timer on his wrist.

Got a Breitling Navitimer. Mrs got it for me years ago. Really stylish and doesn’t date. Love the watch.

I got a CW a couple of months ago, and very happy with it so far.
One thing I would suggest, is to sign up for their email newsletter, as they regularly send out promo codes for discounts that are worth using (e.g £100, 15%, 20%)

Had a CW 5/6 years ago.
Very tidy watch, about £250 with crocodile strap.
Unfortunately noticed one day that one of the numerals had fallen off the face, wasn't misused so think quality control may have been an issue. Tried to fix it myself but of course totally fucked it up so binned it.
Would still recommend them as a brand though.

CW used to drink in my local so most of us have one or two of his watches as he was giving a decent discount when he started out. Don't see him much anymore so I'm guessing he's moved since the business took off. Most of his watches are based on his more well known competitors so you're getting 80-90% of the expensive watch for less than a third of the price. Excellent customer service as well.

Maybe Vexed, it certainly taught me to be more aware when pissed of my surroundings. It was actually done by sleight of hand and before I knew what was going on, he was running off and climbed over a wall like monkey and ran away onto the railway sidings.
